Welcome from our Program Director

Thank you for your interest in our General Surgery program. We are a well-rounded new program, with our first class of 3 categorical surgery residents. We have an outstanding faculty with a breath of subspecialties, including Pediatric Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Surgical Oncology (hepatopacreatobiliary, gastrointestinal, breast, melanoma, endocrine), Trauma and Surgical Critical Care, and excellent case volume. Our faculty employ all modalities, including minimally invasive and Da Vinci robotic techniques through which they train our residents. Additionally, we are very proud of our newly completed state-of-the-art Simulation Center with virtual reality laparoscopic and endoscopic trainers, ultrasound trainers, central venous access, endotracheal intubation trainers, and a full-time Simulation Center manager to optimize surgical resident training. We have 3 categorical spots per year. Our program is a part of the HCA GME family, which is the largest GME provider in the United States.

Mission statement

Our mission at Los Robles is to give high quality training to the next generation of physicians. We aim to create a balance between clinical training, simulation, practicing evidence-based surgical care, promoting research and ensuring resident wellness. Our focus will be to integrate our residents into our wonderful community, so we may provide excellent care to the people of Thousand Oaks and Ventura County.
