Welcome to the Sunrise Health GME Consortium Emergency Medicine Residency Program in Las Vegas, Nevada. We offer robust clinical training and an emphasis on resident wellness while living in the entertainment capital of the world.

Living in Las Vegas: Las Vegas is so much more than the world-famous Las Vegas Strip. Where else can you go skiing in the morning and spend the afternoon poolside or at a Cirque du Soleil show? Beyond the food and entertainment that make Las Vegas famous, the city is surrounded by mountains, lakes, and national parks perfect for hiking, skiing, and weekend getaways. For sports fans, you’ll find an NFL team, an NHL team, and soon Major League Baseball right here in town. If you need a getaway from the Vegas heat, we are a quick drive to the California coast and our airport flies nonstop to cities all over the world.

High volume, high acuity: Our residents are trained at two of the busiest hospitals in the state of Nevada. Sunrise Hospital is located a few blocks from the Strip and serves as one of two major trauma centers in Las Vegas. Residents rotate here in the Emergency Department, as a valued member of the Trauma team and in the dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department. Our home base is Mountain View Hospital, which has an 81-bed Emergency Department and has no shortage of critically ill patients. Between our two hospitals, we care for over 240,000 patients per year. Our residents lead resuscitations every shift and often do multiple procedures each day. Interns typically exceed graduation procedure requirements in their first few months.

Interactive Learning: Training is far more than numbers. Our program is committed to wellness and active learning. Residents learn each week through our engaging Modular Active Learning Curriculum for Emergency Medicine (MALCEM). Modeled by cutting-edge adult learning concepts, our residents learn in a flipped-classroom environment, combining independent study with interactive discussions, simulation, and hands-on procedural training.

Opportunity to succeed: Graduates of our program have thrived all over the country in clinical practice as well as academics, leadership positions and fellowships. Former graduates have matched into fellowships in Critical Care, EMS, Hyperbarics, Addiction Medicine, EM Administration, Wilderness Medicine, and Sports Medicine.

We look forward to reviewing your application.

Best wishes,
