Welcome to the Sunrise Health Graduate Medical Education Consortium Diagnostic Radiology Residency program. I am proud to introduce you to Nevada's only radiology residency program, which was established in July 2020. We are an ACGME accredited 4-year residency that accepts 5 residents per year.
Our radiology residency provides a rigorous, rewarding radiology residency experience in dynamic urban and suburban settings of Las Vegas. Our fellowship-trained subspeciality radiologists, including Red Rock Radiology Associates, provide outstanding training to our residents in a hybrid environment of academic radiology and private practice. Our residents rotate at MountainView Hospital, Southern Hills Hospital, and Sunrise Hospital, where they are exposed to high volumes and diverse pathology, with additional subspecialty rotation opportunities in the community. Our robust curriculum of clinical rotations, didactic lectures, case conferences, multidisciplinary conferences, electronic resources, and research opportunities strongly prepares our residents for board examinations and for successful radiologist careers in both academic and private practice settings. Our residents gain experience in all sections of radiology including interventional, chest, cardiac, body, ultrasound, neuroradiology, musculoskeletal, nuclear medicine, breast, fluoroscopic, pediatric and emergency medicine imaging.
Of note, the Las Vegas patient population is socioeconomically and culturally diverse, contributing to an outstanding radiology residency experience. Moreover, our residents serve a primary role in image interpretation, patient management, and patient procedures, given the absence of fellows within the program. This allows our residents to acquire and reinforce interpretation and procedural skills early and often in during the course of training. Lastly, our program takes pride in being receptive and responsive to faculty and resident feedback, focusing on continuous program improvement and resident well-being.
