About our program

The HCA Healthcare Kansas City Vascular Surgery Fellowship is a two-year, clinically focused training program based in high-volume, non-academic community hospitals. We accept one fellow per year, allowing for individualized mentorship, consistent operative experience, and a graduated increase in surgical autonomy. Our faculty includes eight board-certified vascular surgeons trained at programs across the United States. Their diverse backgrounds provide fellows with exposure to a variety of operative styles, decision-making approaches, and contemporary techniques in both open and endovascular surgery.

Fellows are directly involved in patient care from initial consultation through postoperative follow-up, gaining real-world experience in continuity of care, clinical efficiency, and independent decision-making. The program offers strong clinical volume with comprehensive exposure to peripheral arterial disease, limb salvage, dialysis access, routine and complex aortic pathology, carotid disease, venous disease, and vascular trauma.

Our goal is to produce well-rounded vascular surgeons who are technically skilled, clinically sound, and fully prepared for independent practice upon graduation. All of our graduates have successfully passed their board examinations and transitioned smoothly into independent vascular practice.

Welcome from our Program Director

Thank you for your interest in our Vascular Surgery Fellowship Program. We are proud to offer a fully accredited, two-year vascular surgery fellowship, now in its fifth year of training fellows. Our mission is straightforward: to graduate confident, technically skilled, and clinically competent community vascular surgeons who are fully prepared to enter independent practice upon completion of training. Our goal is to train surgeons who are well respected as individuals, capable of thoughtfully managing complex vascular disease, and skilled in communicating effectively with both patients and colleagues.
