Curriculum and rotation schedule
The clinical curriculum is designed to ensure residents are well-prepared for the breadth of pathology encountered in surgical practice.
The clinical curriculum is designed to ensure residents are well-prepared for the breadth of pathology encountered in surgical practice. Residents are expected to make rounds on patients, discuss management decisions within the resident team and with the supervising attending physician(s), see patients in clinic, and perform procedures and operations. The vast majority of clinical education occurs at Riverside Community Hospital. We do rely on our affiliates at Loma Linda University Medical Center and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for additional education in Pediatric Surgery, Transplant Surgery, and Burn Surgery. Flexibility in rotations is considered on a case-by-case basis.
