Program overview

While we are a new residency, we are built on decades of a strong resident education foundation. Our primary teaching site, HCA HealthONE Rose, has trained OBGYN residents for decades, and our new interns will join a hospital environment where experienced residents from other programs are already on-site to show them the ropes from day one. With only five residents per year, our high clinical volume translates into a depth of one-on-one teaching that is hard to find elsewhere.

Training will take place across three distinct hospitals giving residents an unusually broad view of how OBGYN care is practiced. You'll gain experience in private practices, hospital-employed practices, and the Kaiser Permanente model. You will work alongside general OBGYNs and subspecialists in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, and maternal-fetal medicine. You'll train in open, laparoscopic, robotic, and vaginal surgery, and gain hands-on experience in complex family planning, contraception, and abortion care.

This breadth reflects the full scope of our specialty. As OBGYNs, patients often see us as their primary providers, following them through every stage of their reproductive lives and beyond, while also serving as their connection to a wider network of subspecialty support when they need it. Our program is designed to prepare residents for exactly that role.

This is HCA Healthcare's first OBGYN residency in Colorado — a significant investment in this specialty and in this community, backed by an organization with an established track record of graduate medical education across Colorado. We're proud to be building something new on ground that's already proven. Join us!

We will be accepting applications with the ResidencyCAS system. Applicants are able to see our Alignment Check Index to align values and signal to flag their interest in this program.

We accept 5 residents per year.

As the main training site of the OBGYN residency program, Rose Hospital is a 422-bed acute care hospital that provides care to more than 160,000 patients each year serving a diverse urban and metropolitan Denver patient population including substantial White, Hispanic/Latino, Black/African American, and Asian populations. The hospital also serves patients across a broad socioeconomic spectrum and accepts both commercial and government insurance; including a meaningful Medicaid population. As the city's premier "baby hospital" Rose serves as a major destination for maternity as well as gynecologic care.

Our robust didactic curriculum is scheduled as protected teaching time every Friday morning. The curriculum spans the depth and breadth of OBGYN topics. Teaching faculty within general OBGYN and subspecialists participate to ensure even low volume but high yield topics are covered. CREOG in-service exam study prep, journal club, M&M, and simulation take place during this time.

Serving communities in metro-Denver Colorado ensures a diverse patient population across three different hospitals. Residents will work with providers from private practices, hospital-owned practices, and Kaiser Permanente as teaching faculty. We are also able to offer full spectrum complex family planning education and hands-on experiences.

No, at this time we do not sponsor visas.
