Welcome from our Program Director

Welcome to the Vascular Neurology Fellowship Program at Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center, which is a Joint Commission Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center serving patients in and around the Ventura County. This is a one-year ACGME accredited fellowship program. We offer two fellowship positions and are well supported by Vascular Neurology faculty from various backgrounds, including Stroke, Neuro-critical Care, Interventional Neuroradiology, Vascular Neurology, and Vascular Neurosurgery. The primary clinical experience is the inpatient stroke neurology service at Los Robles Hospital. The fellow works directly with the Vascular Neurology attending, neurology residents, medicine residents, and medical students. During the training, fellow gets to participate in a variety of experiences including but not limited to Diagnostic Neuroradiology, Interventional Neuroradiology, Neuro-critical Care, Physical Medicine and Rehab, and Research.

Throughout the year, the fellow participates in one half-day vascular neurology clinic per week that provides continuity of care and exposure to a variety of patients with different pathophysiologies. Patients are not only evaluated for stroke and transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), but also intracerebral hemorrhage, intracranial aneurysms, and arteriovenous malformations. The clinic is staffed by the Vascular Neurology attending and enables the fellow to follow their patients from the inpatient service. The fellow is also assigned new patients that are referred for subspecialty evaluation.

The fellowship runs from July 1st through June 30th. Applicants must have completed an ACGME accredited residency in Neurology. We participate in the NRMP and accept applications via ERAS.
