The mission of the HCA Houston Healthcare/University of Houston (Clear Lake) Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program is to train the next generation of surgical intensivists who demonstrate clinical excellence, compassion, integrity, and commitment to lifelong learning.

Through a strong foundation in hands-on critical care practice, procedural competency, and interdisciplinary teamwork, the program will prepare fellows to manage complex surgical patients in high-acuity settings with confidence and precision. Fellows will develop into leaders who are driven to improve outcomes, reinforce quality standards, and contribute meaningfully to the future of surgical critical care in academic medicine, community practice, or health system leadership.

Consistent with HCA Healthcare's mission: "Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life", the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting professional growth, innovation, and service to the diverse communities we serve.
