Program Director - Dr. Jon Halling
As program director, I bring 18 years of combined research, clinical, education, and administrative experience. I received my MD degree from St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. I completed a year of surgery residency at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. This was followed by an anesthesia residency at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana, where I participated in the rebuilding of New Orleans after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. After anesthesiology residency, I pursued a Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship at Duke University. I moved to Arizona and began a new Cardiothoracic surgery program in Lake Havasu City. I then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and was one of the founding faculty in the Sunrise GME Anesthesiology program, having been with the program since the beginning. I recently relocated to Grand Strand Medical Center to participate in making the program one of the finest training programs in the Southeastern U.S. I am also in the process of obtaining an MBA from the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University.
