Welcome from our program director
On behalf of the faculty and staff at the HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program, welcome! Thank you for your interest in our ACGME-accredited, one-year fellowship.
Our mission is to train the next generation of highly skilled, compassionate, and independent interventional cardiologists who are prepared to excel in either academic or private practice settings. We are dedicated to offering an intense, comprehensive experience that combines high-volume, state-of-the-art procedures with scholarly research opportunities.
Program overview
Interventional cardiology fellows at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood will gain extensive hands-on experience through high-volume procedural training and diverse clinical exposure. Throughout the fellowship, fellows will rotate through the Cardiac Catheterization Labs and EP Suite, actively participating in diagnostic and interventional procedures, including percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI). Additional exposure to structural heart interventions, peripheral vascular procedures, and complex coronary cases will enhance procedural competence. Fellows will work closely with experienced, board-certified interventional cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams, including board-certified cardiovascular surgeons and imaging specialists, to manage patients across the continuum of care. As the fellowship progresses, the fellows will assume increasing responsibility in procedural planning, patient management, and post-procedure follow-up.
The inclusive training environment at Kingwood, combined with strong mentorship and robust case volume, will prepare fellows to become skilled, independent interventional cardiologists ready for academic or community-based practice.
