We provide fellows with diverse opportunities to provide care to patients and their families across the continuum of hospice and palliative care in all care settings.

Mission Statement

The HCA Florida Orange Park Hospitals Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program's mission is to develop the next generation of physicians and physician leaders.

As a part of HCA Healthcare, we are driven by a single mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.

This program is designed to offer residents a rewarding, educational environment where residents are provided individualized learning opportunities by faculty and staff who support and sustain one another throughout quality care delivery. Our faculty are committed to ensuring the resident's clinical experience and educational needs are fulfilled while expanding residents’ perspectives to be inclusive of cultures, values and ideals.

Program Overview

Fellows will receive skills needed to provide the highest quality hospice and palliative care through their clinical rotations and will manage a broad range of clinical problems through direct patient care and interdisciplinary team collaboration.

The fellowship curriculum is tailored to meet all ACGME requirements for hospice and palliative medicine. We consider all candidates who apply to our program through the ERAS application service.

The faculty are dynamic and highly motivated and take pride in mentoring our fellows into excellent physicians.

Fellows will apply their knowledge of basic and clinical sciences and use interpersonal and communication skills to provide outstanding and compassionate care, the goal always to improve the quality of life of patients and their families facing problems associated with life-threatening illnesses.

Fellows will be held to the highest standard of professionalism and system-based practice as well as an evidence-based approach with a focus on the needs of patients of all ages with serious illnesses at any stage.

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital is a full-service, acute-care hospital located in the heart of Orange Park providing medical care to Clay County and surrounding communities. All fellows are required to participate in a quality improvement project, research and scholarly activity.

Our fellows work with other ACGME accredited programs at Orange Park Medical Center during their fellowship year.
