Welcome from our team

The Dermatology Residency program at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital is a three-year, ACGME-accredited program with three available positions per year. It is dedicated to ensuring advanced and concentrated training in the broad field of dermatology and providing the highest-quality educational opportunities to the residents.

Mission Statement

The HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital Dermatology Residency program's mission is to develop the next generation of physicians and physician leaders.

As a part of HCA Healthcare, we are driven by a single mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.

This program is designed to offer residents a rewarding, educational environment where residents are provided individualized learning opportunities by faculty and staff who support and sustain one another throughout quality care delivery. Our faculty are committed to ensuring the resident's clinical experience and educational needs are fulfilled while expanding residents’ perspectives to be inclusive of cultures, values and ideals.

Program Overview

  • Fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
  • Resident positions: three doctors accepted per year

The program provides a structured, progressive learning experience that develops the attitudes, skills and knowledge that our graduates need to provide quality specialized dermatologic care in both inpatient and outpatient situations. Residents are exposed to private office, clinic, aesthetic, surgical, inpatient, emergency and under-served community settings.

We fully support resident pursuits of post-graduate fellowship. We are one of the few programs in the country to offer four complex medical dermatology blocks per resident.

Our exceptionally dedicated faculty engages learners in a safe and challenging environment. Most rotations are on a one-to-one ratio in order to support close working relationships and undivided attention. Evaluations and feedback are crucial to constant improvement and evolution and our program incorporates a rigorous, formal and ongoing two-way evaluation model to foster communication and learning.

Our residents report feeling extremely well-prepared for independent practice and we boast a 100% board pass rate.
