Karthik Krishnamurthy, DO

Dr. Krishnamurthy founded the residency program in 2015 after an academic career in New York City as chief of dermatology for Jacobi Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Krishnamurthy practices the full range of dermatology and specializes in unique procedures and complex medical dermatology.

Courtney Bernett, DO

Assistant Program Director

Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr. Bernett, an alumni of the OPMC Dermatology Residency program. Dr. Bernett specializing in medical and surgical dermatology with a special interest in eczema (atopic dermatitis), hidradenitis suppurativa, vulvar dermatology and skin cancer detection/treatment. Dr. Bernett truly enjoys teaching medical students and residents.

Arianne Chavez-Frazier, MD

Director of Surgery

Washington University School of Medicine

Dr. Frazier is a fellowship-trained Mohs Micrographic Surgeon. She is an exceptional teacher and residents enjoy learning complicated closures such as flaps and grafts on her rotations. She also completed a fellowship in phototherapy and utilizes this in her practice.

Pearl Kwong, MD

Director of Pediatrics

University of Alberta

Dr. Kwong completed both pediatrics and dermatology residencies. As Dr. Kwong is the only full-time pediatric dermatologist in Northeast Florida, the residents enjoy full access to her expertise. Dr. Kwong brings a unique spirit to the bedside and makes residents feel comfortable treating younger patients.

Ann Church, MD

Director of Dermatopathology

Indiana University School of Medicine

Dr. Church was formerly the fellowship director for dermatopathology at the University of Florida – Gainesville prior to joining our faculty. She teaches the residents weekly during microscope sessions and hosts residents on dedicated one-on-one rotations. Her lab also hosts two annual, full-week dermatopathology camps in Miami for the residency program.

Sarah J. Ferrer-Bruker, DO

Dr. Ferrer-Bruker is dual board-certified in internal medicine and dermatology. During her general dermatology rotations, residents engage in a robust clinical, surgical and cosmetic experience.

Michelle Foley, DO

Core Faculty

Nova Southeastern University

Dr. Foley specializes in general, surgical and aesthetic dermatology. She has expertise in the use of neurotoxins, soft tissue augmentation and lasers. She is often called upon as an industry expert in the field.

Juan Rosario-Collazo, MD

Core Faculty

Ponce School of Medicine

Dr. Rosario is a former Navy commander, who now specializes in general dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery. Residents enjoy his supervision and teaching along with the high volume of hands-on experiences.

George Schmieder, DO

Core Faculty

Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr. Schmieder practices both clinical dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery. Dr. Schmieder is a retired Navy captain and brings over 25 years of clinical teaching experience to the program.

Mary Pentel, MD

Core Faculty

Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine

Dr. Pentel has over 20 years of experience as a premier aesthetic dermatologist in Northeast Florida. During rotations, residents have a variety of hands-on opportunities with neurotoxin, filler, lasers and cosmeceuticals.

Shawn Schmieder, DO

Dr. Schmieder, an alumni of the OPMC Dermatology Residency program. Dr. Schmieder is committed to advancing the Surgical Care of Skin Cancer through education and quality improvement.
