Welcome from our Program Director
Thank you for your interest in the HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program! Our internal medicine residency program is an ACGME-accredited, three-year training program with 39 positions.
OPH trains residents in a state-of-the-art, 365-bed, community teaching hospital with multidisciplinary services including a Level II Trauma Center, labor and delivery, psychiatry, rehabilitation, adult and neonatal intensive care units.

The HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital Internal Medicine Residency program's mission is to develop the next generation of physicians and physician leaders.

Program Overview
Thank you for your interest in our HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program. Our Program launched in 2015, and received continued accreditation by the ACGME in 2017. We offer a three-year training residency with 39 positions.
HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital is a full-service, acute care hospital located in the heart of Orange Park, providing medical care to the surrounding communities. Orange Park enjoys the benefits of the areas beaches, professional sports teams, theater and a broad range of outdoor activities.
HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital provides residents with a state of the art 365-bed community teaching hospital and specialty facilities such as Stroke Program, Inpatient Rehabilitation Program, three Emergency Department locations and a Level 2 Trauma Center. During their training, the residents rotate in various settings including inpatient, outpatient locations providing exposure to extensive variety in pathology. Our program offers a 4 + 1 schedule in which the residents spend a full week in the continuity clinic every five weeks.
Our program is dedicated to train outstanding physicians in an academic and collegial environment that offers ample clinical and research opportunities. We strive to help our residents reach their maximum potential and achieve their long-term goals; including fellowship training at our institution or other recognized academic centers. Residents apply their knowledge and skills to provide outstanding and compassionate care treating disease as well as promoting health in the community. They are held to the highest standards.
The faculty are dynamic, highly motivated and take pride in mentoring our residents. They are committed to ensure that each trainee's educational needs are fulfilled while delivering high-quality, patient-centered, evidenced-based care.

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program
We are committed to providing you with an excellent and safe clinical learning environment created by our knowledgeable and compassionate faculty. During the three years of your residency, you will be assigned to a faculty mentor who will review your rotations' evaluations, track your progress and update your clinical competency committee (CCC) on a regular basis.

Salary
The following salaries are for the fiscal year 2024-2025 and may differ from future years' salaries.
- PGY1 salary is $60,154 with a $950 on-call meal stipend for a total of $61,104
- PGY2 salary is $62,254 with a $950 on-call meal stipend for a total of $63,204
- PGY3 salary is $64,438 with a $950 on-call meal stipend for a total of $65,388

Vacation, sick or holiday
Each resident and fellow receives four weeks of annual paid leave for vacation, sick, holiday or other time away from work. Vacation requests must occur prior to the beginning of each academic year. The four-week annual leave does not carry over to the next academic year and residents and fellows will not be paid out for time unused.
